The neptune cluster is a research resource for general computing use.
The cluster consists of 3 nodes.

• Operating System: Rocks Linux 5.2
• Head node:
  2 x86_64 Intel processors at 2.66 Ghz,
  8 GB Ram,
  Gigabit ethernet interconnect.
• Two Compute nodes:
  2 x86_64 quad-core processors at 2.66 Ghz.
  8 GB Ram

The primary purpose for neptune is to run interactive applications.
