In collaboration with Switch Communications and Cisco, there is a dedicated high-speed network available for research users.

Currently, the research network connects the UNLV NSI data centers located in the UNLV Science and Engineering Building with our resources at SWITCH's SUPERNAP7 colocation facility. This connection consists of an aggregated 200Gb/s link over dedicated fiber. There is also a 10Gb/s connection to the Internet.

Future expansion plans include increased bandwidth to the Internet and additional connections to the Technical Park as well as state-wide and regional links.

In order to access the research network, you must use UNLV NSI's resources or host your physical server in one of our data centers. Direct connections to the research network from researcher's labs are currently not available.
